The album blends stories from her adventurous and turbulent California/Essex upbringing, her London life as a musician, and her relationships, with her reflective time during the Covid Pandemic.

The songs were written while transcribing and improvising over songs she loves by artists including Rotary Connection, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Steely Dan, McCoy Tyner, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Wayne Shorter. Having to record at home, in isolation, she threw herself into the process, using her trusty Nord, an SM7 mic, a UA 6176 Pre-amp, Logic Pro X software, YouTube tutorial videos and lots of red wine.

She collaborated with Rob Mullarkey (other half of Brotherly, Jacob Collier bassist, and the album's mixing engineer) and Richard Spaven (Jordan Rakei, Jose James, Ty) for this album, their virtuosity and reputation as the best drum and bass crew in London (possibly the world!) perfectly match her album's odd-time signatures, unexpected harmony and deeply personal subject matter.lends stories from her adventurous and turbulent California/Essex upbringing, her London life as a musician, and her relationships, with her reflective time during the Covid Pandemic.
